New Studio/Office for The Old Chapel In 2005 we decided we needed a dedicated workspace. This was designed by Roger and Caroline, working closely with Julian Collin, who constructed the new workspace with occasional help from Olly Hillier and Myles Hillier. Two significant design elements were the use of materials sympathetic to the building (i.e. mostly recycled softwood) and the concealing of wires and cables behind removable panels. The wires emerge through “mouse–holes” in the floor and work–surfaces to reach the various machines, telephones etc. The work was completed in October 2005. A much–needed bookcase was then built, using recycled oak floorboards suspended from stainless steel rope.
